I'm very sorry guys! I went MIA for the past few days! Was busy and connection wasn't good! Anyway, I attended a 2 days training course at one of the hotels near the Railway Station. The training course was held on Thursday and Friday, from 9am to 5pm. It was an enriching one as it is a new standard launched in Singapore last year. My meals were also provided and I did not spend a cent on both days! WOOT!

YESH! I went to Nanjingxilu on Saturday! There were a lot of shopping malls there and of course NICE FOOOD!!!!!

The most famous Jian Bao in Shanghai! Super long queue! But, I still queue! LOL!

It costs 4RMB for 4 BIG pieces! AND I MEAN IT! It's huge!

Rou Jia Mo! It's like the Kou Rou Bao in Singapore! But this is special! You can chooe to have the Fried Pork or the Stewed Pork! AND THE SPECIAL SAUCE!! Awwww..

I chose the Stewed Pork Meat! Yummy! But, I can't finish it! HAHAHA!

Day 21 in Shanghai

Day 10 in Luke Ji

Was quite happy since morning as it's FRIDAY!! Woke up at 630am and rushed out of the house at 715am. Was early for work and so I headed to a nearby cafe and bought myself an ice blended caramel! Woot! Super nice and it cost 14RMB ($2.80).

Went for lunch with one of my colleague, Chenying, and we had shen jian bao! Very yummy as it is crispy outside and juicy on the inside! Can you imagine? Very sorry! I did not take any photos as I left my camera in the office. -______-

ARGH! GOT TO FINISH MY REPORT BU TONIGHT!! I will be going out tomorrow!! =) Even though I will be out alone, I think it's time for me to breathe some air from the town! Goodness! I'm having a stiff neck as I have not been sleeping well for the past few days. I was emotionally unstable and physically tired. ARGH! Shall not talk about it!

Day 20 in Shanghai

Day 9 in Luke Ji

I'm super tired today! Left my workplace at 620pm and reached home around 730pm. I have no appetite to take my dinner! My brain is drained out, my mind is exhausted, my body is aching and I'm having splitting headache!

Argh! Shall not say anymore. Just can't wait for weekends to come even though I have to rush out my weekly report. I'm going to attend a 2 days training course at one of the hotels in Pudong. It will be held on 23rd October 2008 to 24th October 2008. This training course will cover on the new standard which was launched last year in Singapore. I will be one of the student there to take down the guidelines of this standard and I'm sure I will benefit a lot from this training.

I'm now busy with the preparation of the upcoming Seminar to be held on the 13th November 2008. My colleagues and I have to call up companies and to explain the details and call them to participate. The culture in Shanghai here is very different compared to Singapore. They are not as polite as Singaporeans. Normally, when we call a company regarding something, the speaker on the other line will greet and introduce herself to us. However, the people in the service line do not have this habit. Instead, they say 'jiang' when the line gets through. 'Jiang' means 'say'. Yes, I will get irritated when he/she does that, but I have to swallow down the anger in me. -___-

I'm going to do on my weekly report! Shall update tomorrow!

Day 19 in Shanghai

Day 8 in Luke Ji

I'm sick today! Was having a fever but I went to work as I have to call a client and settle a proposal with him today. I popped 2 panadols in the morning and in the afternoon! PHEW!! It's so nice to be home again! I can walk around the house without sticking my butt to the chair. LOL!

Ohya! I cleaned up my room today! Besides that, I hand-washed tons of clothes today as I was too tired for the past few days! I sweeped and mopped the floor too! It's so neat and nice-smelling now! =))

Woohoo! My supervisor will be back to work tomorrow! Goodness! I'm scared actually! I'm so afraid that I will not be able to meet her expectation! And this also means that my butt will be double-glued to the roller chair! ARGH!! It's killing me man! My spine aches from all the sitting and I will experience numbness at my butt!

Yeah!! Weekend is nearing! I can't wait for it to come! =P

Day 18 in Shanghai

Day 7 in Luke Ji

Woohoooo! Tomorrow is Wednesday!! Left with 3 more days to weekends! I can't wait for weekends to come asap. Even though I may stay at home the whole day, I can do things that I like with no STRESS!! Well, work is pretty taxing and I guess my butt is getting bigger with each passing day! Seriously, my butt is glued to the roller chair from 9am to 6pm! LOL!!

I finished my weekly report yesterday night and I had so much to write but so little time. However, I'm so glad that it is done! But, I'm going to start my report today as I feel that weekends are not enough for me! In fact, I'm so proud of myself as I wrote 9pages for my weekly report. =))

My supervisor will be coming to Shanghai tomorrow night! Heard that she is a nice lady! I spoke to her over Skype today and she asked me whether I needed anything from Singapore! Nice right? She sounds very motherly! Hmmm..in fact, my colleagues are all super motherly! They will offer you food every hour! Coffee from German, Apple, Gums, Bread from Christine, etc! And I got so full even before I reached home!

Well peeps! I missed you all! I still missed home and all the good things in Singapore! Anyway, I can't wait for December! I'm going to have a great time then!

Day 5 in Luke Ji, Shanghai

Today is the same as any other working days. The day is ending so early right now. The sky will turn dark at 5pm and I'm still on my desk calling the clients. By the time I left the workplace, the sky is pitch dark, just like 9pm in Singapore. The weather is changing too. It will be windy in the day and it will turn chilly in the night. I will always change into my thicker Long John when I get home and head for dinner after that. After which, I will watch a bit of TV and start to use the laptop around 8pm.

Ohya, I shared fried Mushroom Noodle with one of my colleagues today. We called for delivery and the food came after 15mins later. We ordered it from Bai Yu Lan and it is quite famous around the vicinity. AND AND AND!! I saw Pi Feng Tang's Bubble Tea shop when I was on the bus 107 to work. Goodness!! It's heaven!! I remembered William and I ordered it at the Pi Feng Tang Restaurant and it cost RMB 9. It is considered very expensive in Shanghai. But, it is selling at RMB 4 at the stall along the road. I have the urge to alight the bus and buy but I will be late if I do that. -.-

Wooo!! It will be Saturday tomorrow!! Have to start on my weekly report since I'm not going out this weekend.

Day 4 in Luke Ji

I was sick on Tuesday and Wednesday, thus I did not go to work. I was having fever, cough and flu and also aches. In fact, I was not really feeling well today but I don't feel good not attending work for so many days.

My work is quite ok. I have to call the clients as there are two seminars coming up. It is rather tedious as you have to keep on talking for hours and your throat will be sore after that. I have to speak in both Mandarin and English and explain to them the details and fax it to them if they want further details.

My colleagues and I have to do preparations for the seminars held at the hotels. I may have to be the emcee and decorate the place. I'm so looking forward to that day as staying at the desk can be quite tiring.Backache!

I want to get well soon!!

My Journey in Shanghai

I'm so sorry for not updating the blog as I fell sick for the past few days due to the bad weather. It was so cold and the wind was strong and piercing till my spine hurt. The one week of holidays were well spent as William and I went to quite a few places such as The Bund, Pearl Tower, Qi Pu Lu, Nan Jing Dong Lu, Cheng Huang Miao, Xintiandi, Qing Fang Shi Chang and many more. We planned our daily itinerary and get to places with the Shanghai map and street directory that we have.

Well, I'm sure pictures speak louder than words! So, here it is! =))

Day 2 in Shanghai (28th Sept 2008)

Woke up at 1pm in the afternoon and rushed out of the house to visit the places that we have planned the night before. First, we went to the nearby Police Post to get my lodging permit and headed to Shanghai National Stadium to purchase our tickets to Suzhou and Hangzhou but we did not bring enough cash us.After which, we went back to Lujiazhui to eat Ajisen and we took a bus to the ferry terminal which would bring us to the WaiTan. We took lots of pictures with the Pearl Tower and took 2 buses back home.

At first, we can't get used to the walking as the road
is never ending when we tried to get from a place to another place. When we asked the people how long does it take to get to the place by walking, they will always say 5 to 10mins. Instead, we reached there about 30minutes later. -.- The people here would rather walk than take a bus as it is time-consuming to wait for the bus. The life here in Shanghai is quite fast-paced and everywhere is packed with people. Food stalls will open as early as 5am and you can see people walking out of their house to take the public bus (Gong Che) to work.

I miss Singapore a lot!!!! I miss my family members, friends and the food! The food here is oily and rather bland. I miss Lor Mee, Wanton Noodle, Oyster Omelet, Carrot Cake, Tori-Q, Carls Junior, Kaki Fuyong, Liang Tao Fu, Durian Pancake, Bak Kuteh, Avocado Juice and ARGH!! so many more!!! =(

It shall be my first day at Luke Ji tomorrow! I have to wake up at 6am and I'm getting so excited now! =)) I will be back tomorrow ya! See ya!! Take Care guys!! =)
